Season 3 Episode 14
Season 3 Episode 14 Exposé
Let’s start by going through the flashback here:
It starts with Nikki being a guest star on “Exposé”, stripping to one of my old favorite tunes “Rump Shaker” by Wreckx n’Effect. She is killed off and makes the ironic comment “I’m a guest star, and we all know what happens to guest stars.”
84 days ago: Paulo & Nikki kill director Howie Zuckerman so they can steal his Diamonds.
80 days ago: Paulo and Nikki are waiting for flight 815 when they run into Boone and Shannon. Later that day the plane crashes. Boone asks Nikki for a pen (this is because Jack sent him to find one as he was trying to save Rose). After the crash we see Paulo staring at something until Nikki snaps him out of it. (The writers have said since season 1 that fans missed a huge clue in the very first episode. Maybe that’s what Paulo is looking at??)
75 days ago: Paulo and Nikki have a weird encounter with Ethan Rom.
57 days ago: Nikki and Paulo find the plane that Eko’s brother was on. The same plane that killed Boone. They also find the Pearl station. This was the same day Jin discovered Sun could speak English.
48 days ago: Paulo finds the diamonds but doesn’t tell Nikki
32 days ago: Paulo hides the diamonds in the Pearl station. While there Juliet and Ben arrive. They discuss Ben’s plan to capture Jack so he can operate on him.
Ben: “I’ll find what he’s emotionally invested in and exploit it”. He tells Juliet he will use Michael to get to Jack and friends. Now I’m not sure if any of you out there read other Lost message boards or not. I personally avoid them because I can’t deal with the theories, especially of people who didn’t watch the first two seasons and some how now have become experts. That being said I do skim them before writing my blog incase I missed something significant. Today the message boarders are up in arms that this timeline doesn’t make since. They make statements like “How did Paulo get into the Pearl station without moving the plane?” And “Jack wasn’t even in the hatch yet so how could they see him on camera?” As usual these people are completely wrong. That same day Paulo goes into the Pearl station two major things happen. First, Eko and Charlie go in search of the drug plane with Eko’s brother in it. When they find it they burn it. Second, Michael gets messages on the computer in the Swan station. He believes they are from Walt, but it makes sense that this would be Ben luring him in as he mentioned. It was only a few days after this that Ben gets captured by Danielle. He claimed in later episodes that this wasn’t part of the plan.
9 days ago: Nikki and Paulo return with Desmond, Locke and Sayid to the Pearl. We now understand why Paulo was in the bathroom, to get the diamonds.
8 & 12 hours ago: Nikki discovers Paulo has the diamonds. She has the spider bite him forgetting that it would attract all the male spiders and she gets bit as well.
Back in real time Nikki drops on the beach:
Hurley: “Nikki’s dead”
Sawyer: “Who the hell’s Nikki?”
Hurley finds the script from Exposé. The writers create some parallels to Lost:
Hurley: “Exposé is the most exciting hour on TV”
Hurley: “No way. The Cobra was Mr. LaShade?"
Charlie: "Is that supposed to mean something?"
Hurley: “"he was the big bad guy whose identity was shrouded in mystery for 4 seasons."
Perhaps in season 4 we’ll find out who JACOB is.
Vincent tries to tell the Losties that Paulo and Nikki aren’t dead by dragging the blanket off of them.
In a creepy (yet awesome) ending Hurley and Sawyer unknowingly bury Nikki and Paulo alive. But let’s not forget the words of John Locke, "Nothing stays buried on this island."
Next week
Season 3 Episode 15 “Left Behind” Kate flashback
All I’m going to tell you is to prepare for a little 1 on 1 chick fighting action.
In the meantime, for those who watch Lost but don’t read my blog for the clues, just keep sitting there saying “we missed it… just like we’re going to miss everything”
Season 3 Episode 13
Season 3 Episode 13 The Man From Tallahassee
Flashback
A man named Peter Talbot finds Locke and wants to know what’s up with Adam Seward, aka Anthony Cooper aka Locke’s dad. Cooper has told Talbot’s mother that he is a retired computer entrepreneur from Ontario (that’s where Ethan Rom said he was from). Locke denies knowing Cooper, but then tracks him down and tells him to leave Talbot’s mother. A few days later Talbot is found dead with Locke’s name and number in his pocket. He tracks down Cooper again who tosses Locke out of an 8 story window; explaining to all of us why he was in a wheelchair.
It seems Jack is quite good on the piano.
Did you notice Tom warning Jack about the room being bugged before he talked to Kate: “Jack, be careful in here (points to his ear)”
Jack let’s Kate know that all the Losties that were taken by the Others are alive and well.
So Mr. Locke decides he’s going to blow up the Sub so they can’t leave the Island, because if he leaves he’s going back in his chair. Ben proves beyond a shadow of a doubt he knows a lot about the Losties, specifically Locke with the following facts:
Locke was born in California
Raised in Foster Care
Wasted a big part of his life working for a box company in Tuscan
Spent the 4 years before coming to the island in a wheelchair
Ben cracked me up when he told Locke they had power because he had two giant hamsters running on giant hamster wheels.
Did you notice all the food in Ben’s fridge was Dharma brand? Ben also prefers dark meet apparently.
So what’s up with the box?
Ben: “… there’s a very large box and whatever you imagined, whatever you wanted to be in it, when you opened that box there it would be”
Locke: “Hope it’s big enough to imagine up a new sub”
Ben confirms that all communication has been Lost and without it no one can find the Island.
Locke blows up the Sub keeping Jack and Juliet from going home just as Ben had hoped.
Question: Why was Locke wet?? We watched him climb into the sub without getting in the water.
We find out ‘The Man from Tallahassee” is Mr. Cooper himself. How did he get there? Was he on the plane too? Did he crash on his own? Or is Ben telling the truth that he showed up in the big box? (I truly don’t believe there is a big box; I think he used it as a metaphor to explain how things just seem to happen on the Island). I get the feeling that he may not be a prisoner at all… but we shall see.
There is still a strong theory that Anthony Cooper is the real Sawyer. The real Sawyer meaning the con man who killed James “Sawyer” Ford’s parents.
Sayid tells Alex about her mom, and later on Danielle actually sees her.
Did Ben’s side kick Richard look familiar to you? He should. He’s Richard Albert, the man from Mittelos Bioscience who recruited Juliet to come to the Island.
Final thing, MacCutchen Whiskey. This would be the brand of whiskey Mr. Whitmore drank when Desmond went to see him. The same whiskey that Desmond, Hurley and Charlie got drunk on. Last night, Locke’s dad was drinking the same whiskey right before he tackled Locke threw the window.

Episode 14 – Exposé – Nikki and Paulo flashback
I hate these two but a cool flashback could potentially change my mind.
See you all next week… and if you already have plans “you’re gonna call off your engagement and go or I’m going to tell her the truth”
Season 3 Episode 12
Season 3 Episode 12 – Par Avion
So the big shock of the night was that Claire and Jack are half brother and sister. A lot of us predicted this a long time ago…
Here is some dialogue from Season 2 Episode 20 – Two for the Road
[Christian knocks on the door as Ana waits in the car watching.]CHRISTIAN: I just want to see my daughter. [then yelling] She's my daughter and I have every right to see her.LINDSEY: No, you don't have a right. Now get out. [She tries to close the door, but Christian tries to bust his way in. Ana runs over.]CHRISTIAN: I pay the mortgage on this house... I want to see my daughter.[Ana pulls Christian back.]ANA: What the hell is wrong with you? LINDSEY: Don't you ever come back here. [Ana pulls Christian to the car.]
Now the majority of us assumed Lindsey was Claire’s mother, but as we’ve learned she is actually Claire’s aunt. And since we know Christian dies roughly 24 hours after the above dialogue, Claire had actually met her dad long before this.
It should also be noted that this episode started with a zoom in shot of Claire’s eye. Almost every episode in season 1 started with this same shot of whomever the flashback was about.
It was also alluded to in season 1 that Claire and her mother weren’t seeing eye to eye. In Season 1 Episode 10 the following is discussed when Claire and Thomas find out Claire is pregnant;
THOMAS: Hey, Claire? If we, if we wanted to we could do this. CLAIRE: Stop it. THOMAS: No. I'm not kidding.CLAIRE: My mom would disown me. THOMAS: She basically has already.
What I find odd about this is at this point Claire’s mother is already in a coma.
Claire tells us that her mother and she were fighting in the car. She told her mother she hated her, she wished she wasn’t her mother and she wished she was dead. The police officer also hints that it was Claire’s fault the accident occurred.
Two other stories take place in this episode. The first revolves around Claire chasing the seagulls. In the end she finds out that Desmond is saving Charlie. She also points out in her letter that the Losties have been on the Island for 80 days. Since the plane crashed September 22nd, 2004, that would mean last night’s episode took place on December 11th. 12/11… 12+11 = 23
Our boy Sawyer tried to call Claire Barbie, but Sun cuts him off.
Locke, Kate, Danielle, Sayid and Mikhail are still wandering the woods when Locke pulls out a classic line:
Sayid: “What do you suggest; we shot him like a dog?”
Locke: “No, I like dogs.”
Mikhail is still a fountain of information. He tells the crew that the Submarine beacon doesn’t work anymore. He and Kate then have the following chat:
Mikhail: “I misspoke. What I meant to say was you are incapable of understanding.”
Kate: “And why am I not capable?”
Mikhail: “Because you are not on the list.”
He then goes on to explain that the HIM the Others refer to is not Ben.
Mikhail: “You are not on the list because you are flawed, because you are angry, and weak, and frightened.”
He then let’s Kate and Sayid know he’s never met them before (although he does know their full names).
Mikhail: “But you John Locke, you I might have a fleeting memory of. But I must be confused because the John Locke I know was para…”
And at that Danielle cuts him off. It seems Mikhail knew Locke was paralyzed. I’m thinking we may see him in a flashback some day. Shortly after, Locke makes Mikhail’s death wish come true and pushes him into the security system. We also discover that Locke knew about the C4 in the Flame Station, and has taken some with him.
The crew then stumbles upon the Other’s village or as I like to call it “O-Town”. There we see Jack and Tom playing a little football. Not sure who is playing what position but from what I know of Tom he’s not the Tight End. Everyone is freaking out but maybe they are reading too much into it. Has Jack become one of them, or is he just happy that Ben said he would send him home. He could also just be faking and plotting a way to rescue everyone.
Next week
Episode 13, “The Man From Tallahassee” – Locke flashback
Until then “just go… go back to your real family.”
Season 3 Episode 11
Season 3 Episode 11 – Enter 77
Sayid Jarrah is a bad mother… well ya know.
Flashback has Sayid in Paris, under an alias, cooking at an Arabic restaurant. He runs into fellow Iraqi Sammi and his wife Amera. Long story short Sayid tortured Amera when he was an Iraqi interrogator. Sayid finally admits what he’s done by saying “I remember you. I remember your face. Your face has haunted me since I left Iraq”. She has a cat that looks a lot like another cat in the episode, but we’ll get to that. Because she doesn’t want to be a bad person like Sayid and the kids who had the cat in the box she lets Sayid go.
Now back to the wacky Island. Kate, Locke, Sayid and Danielle stumble upon Eye Patch, now known as Mikhail Bakunin. Danielle doesn’t stick around and says “I’ve survived on this Island precisely by avoiding these types of situations.”
After putting a bullet in Sayid, Mikhail claims to be the last surviving member of Dharma. Now, later in the episode he tells Sayid “I was never a member {of Dharma}, but everything else I told you was true. I moved into the station after the purge.”
He’s been on the Island for 11 years and lives in The Flame station, which is used for communication with the outside world. He explains that Dharma tried to purge the Hostiles (Others) by starting a war but they were all killed. Now just to side track for a second, does this mean Kelvin was actually an Other and not a Dharma guy? This would give a different reason to why he was fixing the sail boat and not letting Desmond leave the Hatch. Kelvin’s former partner was Razinsky, which is also Russian.
He claims that the Others were on the Island a long time before Dharma… a very long time. In true Lost fashion Mikhail’s cat is named Nadia just like Sayid’s girlfriend. Mikhail claims he named the cat after Nadia Comancci the famous Russian Olympian. Now he says he shares the same birth date with Comancci. She was born November 12th, 1961. November 12th, 11/12, 11+12= 23. At the time of the plane crash Mikhail would have been 42, now 43. Also, Comancci’s parents named her after a Russian film character, Nadezhda. That name means ‘hope’.
He continues to explain that the Flame Station’s satellite hasn’t worked in years. He says the station is the Hub for all the electrical systems for all the stations on the Island. He tells Sayid the cord going into the ocean is an underwater beacon to help guide in submarines.
So Sayid realizes there must be someone else in the station so he puts the boots to Mikhail and ties him up.
Sayid “They sent someone out here because they lost communication”
Locke “Maybe when the sky turned purple”
Like all good Dharma stations there is a hatch. Down there they find the walls covered in C4, some pretty Dharma uniforms and some instructions manuals. The two Sayid looks at are:
Dharma Initiative Food Drop Protocol
Dharma Initiative Operations Manual
Meanwhile upstairs Locke defeats the computer chess game and our favorite one armed friend Marvin Candle shows up in the screen:
For palette drop enter 24
For uplink enter 32
For main land communication enter 38
The satellite dish is inoperable, communications are down
For sonar access enter 56
Sonar is inoperable
Has there been an insertion of this station by the hostiles?
If so enter 77
As he’s screwing around he gets caught. Downstairs Bea Klugh (a.k.a. Ms. Clue) appears and jumps Kate. This leads to a stand off out side. Klugh and Mikhail then have a conversation in Russian. Aren’t you glad I’m fluent?
Klugh: Mikhail. Mikhail! You know what to do. Mikhail: We still have another way out. Klugh: We cannot take the risk. You know the conditions. Mikhail: There is another way. Klugh: They captured us. We will not give in and betray. Klugh: You know what to do. It is an order. Mikhail: We still have another way! Klugh (in English): Just do it, Mikhail. Mikhail: Forgive me. (shoots)
And Bea Klugh… be dead. Mikhail is trying his best to have the Losties kill him as well. I don’t foresee someone with that kind of death wish lasting too long.
The Losties gather up some supplies included some blueprints to lead them to “the barracks”. Crazy Locke goes back in and pushes 77 and we learn quickly what the C4 was for. BOOM. Happy to see Nadia, the cat, survive though. Guess the cow wasn’t so lucky.
You didn’t think I was going to leave out Sawyer did you?
Quotes:
To Paulo: “Listen Zorro”.
Hurley: Avalanche and Grimise
Sun/Jin: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
And my pick of the week, to Nikki:
“A, it was mine when I took it and B, who the hell are you??”Lets hope the week of no nicknames is over by next episode.
Wicked episode
Next week, “Par Avion” a.k.a. Air Mail. Claire flashback. ABC says next week we’ll find out a connection between two Losties. Here is a hint. Think of when Anna-Lucia and Christian Sheppard were in Australia.
And with that I’m gone. “I’ll wait for you by the stream. Those of you who survive.”
Season 3 Episode 10
Season 3 Episode 10 Tricia Tanaka is DeadAnd is she ever... if you had to pick a sweet way to go out it's hard to top being hit by an asteroid. Our flashback this week is of good old Hugo. It starts when he's a boy in California where he is working on a car with the license plate 429 PCE. And to continue with the theme of being cool Hurley's dad is friggin Cheech from Cheech and Chong. After winning the money Hurley buys Mr. Clucks. There we see his old boss Randy. And we know from previous flashbacks that Hurley owns a box company that Locke works at. And who is Locke's boss at this company... bravo for those who have been paying attention... Randy is Locke's boss and he's the one who tells Locke how stupid it is for someone in a wheelchair to go to Australia for a "walkabout". Hurley tells Tanaka about his string of bad luck. The one thing he mentions that we didn't hear before was that his friend Johnny runs off with his girlfriend Starla. Johnny would be his buddy who worked at Mr Clucks with him (played by DJ Qualls) and Starla is the girl who worked at the music store. The whole flashback ends with Hurley still being pissed at his dad and heading off for Australia. Back on the Island Hurley finds himself a nice little V-Dub minibus. The keys have a lucky rabbit's foot on it. Not so lucky for Roger the work man who was driving. And what's up with Kate... she got a piece of Sawyer and now she's all in love ... friggin girls eh.As for the recycling in the van, my thought is this thing might run on compost or something. If not Hugo's gonna need to find an Esso. In the back with the beer Sawyer finds a map which he figures means the Others were building some type of road system. Like all good German cars (eh Perry?) even after sitting for who knows how long in the jungle, the old girl fires right up. Of course the highlight of the night as usual is Sawyer's wicked quotes, so here goes:He calls Charlie both munchkin and Jiminy Cricket (just a matter of time before he calls him Hobbit)To Jin "Well... Somebody is hooked on phonics""Skeletor seems to like it" {that one is my fav cause He-Man rules}He calls Hugo Snuffy (as in Sunfalupagus) as well as Jumbo Tron... but Hurley fires back with "RED... NECK... MAN". Old Jin gives Sun a white flower at the end of the episode. You may recall when Sun was going to leave Jin at the airport he gave her the white flower and she decided to get on the plane with him. Sayid, Locke, and Clingy Kate find Rousseau and tell her what we already know, Alex is alive and kicking... and off they go to find the OthersNEXT WEEKENTER 77 - Sayid flashbackSeems that the fab 4 (Kate,Rousseau, Sayid, Locke) stumble upon "eye patch" guys home. Looks a lot like a farm. And he is dressed a lot like Roger work man. See ya next week ... "I'll be here when you come back"
