Season 3 Episode 6

Season 3 Episode 6 - I Do

"I Do" meaning two things, Kate getting married and "I Do" love Sawyer

So in her flashback Kate (aka Monica) marries Kevin, a Miami cop (that information comes from the side of his cop car as he's leaving the house). Also, he mentions something about a fugitive in Tampa. Now think way back to season 1. The Episode is number 16 and is called "Outlaws". This is where Sawyer comes back to his hotel room where an old acquaintance is waiting for him. The guys name is Hibbs and he's missing a finger. They have the following conversation:
SAWYER: Now, if I'm not mistaken, I'm fairly certain I said I'd kill you if I ever saw you again.
HIBBS: That's why I'm here, to make things right. Besides, we both know you ain't the killing type. [he pulls an envelope out his pocket and throws it on a table] Here. I figure that makes us even for the Tampa job.
SAWYER: What could possibly make us even for the Tampa job?

Tampa job? coincidence?

As Locke is pounding Eko's stick into the ground he reads the top which says "Lift up your eyes and look north. John 3:05"

That Alex is some freak eh? Not sure what she was planning on accomplishing with that slingshot, but she confirms that Carl (guy who was in the cage beside Sawyer) was her boyfriend. She claims the Others killed him. She specifically says in this scene she wants to talk to Ben.

Now to me it sure sounded like Alex's voice coming through the speaker in Jack's cell telling him to "check the door".

As Ben is about to be operated on he says to Juliet "Did Alex ask about me?" She sure seem to ask about him earlier in the show, but Juliet replies with "No... we took her home last night".

As Danny leaves to go kill Sawyer he says to his friend "... Sheppard wasn't even on Jacob's list". Who is Jacob? Eye patch man perhaps?

The story Jack wants Kate to repeat to him:
Season 1 Episode 1 The Pilot
KATE: You don't seem afraid at all. I don't understand that.
JACK: Well, fear's sort of an odd thing. When I was in residency my first solo procedure was a spinal surgery on a 16 year old kid, a girl. And at the end, after 13 hours, I was closing her up and I, I accidentally ripped her dural sac, shredded the base of the spine where all the nerves come together, membrane as thin as tissue. And so it ripped open and the nerves just spilled out of her like angel hair pasta, spinal fluid flowing out of her and I: and the terror was just so crazy. So real. And I knew I had to deal with it. (He's crying). So I just made a choice. I'd let the fear in, let it take over, let it do its thing, but only for 5 seconds, that's all I was going to give it. So I started to count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Then it was gone. I went back to work, sewed her up and she was fine.
KATE: If that had been me, I think I would have run for the door.
JACK: No, I don't think that's true. You're not running now.

And that's it until February 7th. But come February it's 16 straight episodes.
The first one is called "Not In Portland" and is a Juliet flashback.

Season 3 Episode 5

Lost Update Season 3 Episode 5 - The Cost of Living

EKO IS DEAD
And the monster killed him. I was hoping that eventually the monster would end up being some type of machine, but the more we see it the more it looks supernatural, which to me will be disappointing.

Eko's brother's body wasn't in the plane. Where is it now?

Locke talks to Eko about how in Season 1 he seen the monster. In that episode he says "I looked into the eye of the island and what I saw was beautiful." Last night he told Eko "I saw it once you know... I saw a bright light. It was beautiful" Eko's reply "That's not what I saw." Good vs. Evil? Heaven and Hell? Who knows.

The woman in Eko's flashback tells him he owes his brother 1 church. This explains why Eko was trying to build a church on the island.

It also seems that when people see visions on the island it is always of dead people. Eko seen his brother, and the three men he killed. Locke has seen Boone. Jack has seen his father.
The vision Eko sees of his brother says "you speak to me as if I were your brother". Does this mean the other visions (Jack's dad, Boone) aren't really them either?

Ben does have the tumor. And Juliet wants Jack to kill Ben. So is Juliet good or evil?? Her movie reads as follows: "Ignore everything I'm saying. Ben is a liar. And he is very dangerous. Some of us want a change. But it has to look like an accident. It has to look like we tried to save him. And that's up to you Jack. It's a complicated surgery. No one would ever know. And I would protect you. Now tell me to turn off the movie."

So the man with the eye patch is actually in a different station. He also seems to know that the survivors turned the camera on. We'll have to wait and see if he owns that glass eye from season 2. Locke ends the scene with "I guess he'll be expecting us".

Interesting Quotes of the night
Locke: Eko is heading to the plane that crashed on top of the entrance to the Pearl Station
Desmond: That's quite a coincidence
Locke: Don't mistake coincidence for fate

Ben: Two days after I found out I had a fatal tumor on my spine a spinal surgeon fell out of the sky. And if that's not proof of God I don't know what is.

And the show ends with
Sayid: What did he say John?
Locke: He said... we're next.

Next weeks episode is the final show until February. It is a Kate flashback show.

S2E4 Follow Up

Just doing some reading here...

The bank the warden transferred money into for Sawyer was in Albequerque. The bank Kate robbed was also there... same bank perhaps?

The novel "On Writing" by Stephen King contains a white bunny with the number 8 on it

Season 3 Episode 4

Update Season 3 Episode 4
Everyman For Himself

The episode starts with Desmond still predicting the future, and eventually saving Claire and Aaron from being hit by lightning

The conversation Jack had with Juliet about Ben being the boss was quite interesting, since Ben (Henry Gale) had very similar conversations with Locke regarding Jack while held captive in the hatch. For example:
Season 2 Episode 15 - Maternity Leave
GALE: I just don't understand why you let the doctor call the shots.

LOCKE: No one calls the shots. Jack and I make decisions together.
GALE: Right, okay. My mistake.
At this point Locke gets pissy and smashes some dishes on the floor
Season 2 Episode 17 - Lockdown
LOCKE: It's too late anyway. She's already long gone, Jack.

JACK: So, what's done is done?
LOCKE: That's right.
JACK: Put him back in the armory. [he exits]
GALE: Why do you let him talk to you like that? [Locke grabs him by the collar and forcefully takes him to the armory] Hey, wait, I...
LOCKE: Shut up!

Something also came true in this conversation when Ben entered the room. He confirmed that the Others do have a submarine as he said to Juliet, "The sub is back, we have a situation..."

As Sawyer was waking up on the operating table you can here Tom (aka Zeke) say to Ben "Since the sky turned purple we've lost all communication...". Does this mean the Others don't know why the sky turned Purple? And since they are still talking to each other via radio does this mean the communication they have lost is with the "real" world.

There is a direct reference here to the movie Pulp Fiction. As they are about to give Sawyer the needle the guy says "you have to put it through the sternum, just like in the movie..." then the guy counts 1, 2, 3 and stabs the needle in, exactly like John Travolta does to Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction.

In case you were blind, the Rabbit had an 8 on it, one of the "special" numbers.
We see the x-rays of someone with a spinal tumor and Jack says it's a male in his 40's. Clearly we are being led to believe that this is Ben but for Lost this seems a little too obvious.

Colleen is dead and Danny confirms that that was his wife. Tom says Danny wants to kill Sawyer and Ben says "Danny can wait". Guess they need Sawyer for something just like they need Jack.

Juliet is a fertility doctor. Good to have on a small island where you would likely want to keep producing babies to keep your population alive.

Sawyer tells the warden he can find the money in a truck, in a storage building, #23C, again one of the "special" numbers.

My last thought. I think a lot of people are jumping to the conclusion that the Others live on a separate island. I disagree. I think just like Ben said that they use this island like a prison, like Alcatraz. I believe their village is still on the main island. When the plane crashed Ben told Goodwin and Ethan to head to the site. They both ran there, no sign of a boat or sub. Also there are a lot of characters we don't see around like the children the Others took.

Ok if you haven't seen the preview for next week go to lostlinks.net cause it's a must see
Next week is Eko flashback time with the episode called "The Cost of Living". And as reported on ET Canada last night one of the MAJOR characters will be killed off. I have a good idea who it is, but I won't ruin it for anyone.

Season 3 Episode 3

Season 3 Episode 3 Further Instructions

Let's start with the title of the episode. Back in season 2 in the episode where Eko and Locke find the Pearl hatch Eko says to Locke, after finding the question mark in the ground, "we'll wait here for further instruction".

Our old buddy Boone makes his return in a whacked out dream sequence. He makes some interesting quotes in this vision: He tells Locke "I'm gonna help you find your way again, so you can bring the family back together." After telling Locke that someone in the airport is in danger Locke starts pointing at the other characters. As he points at Claire and Charlie Boone says "Not them, they'll be fine... for a while". Is there anything to the fact that the only three people that we recognize who are employees are Hurley, Desmond and Ben? All other characters are just passengers boarding planes. After seeing Desmond Boone says "forget it, he's helping himself".

There was some debate that some of the people sitting with Locke at the table in his flashback when he brings Eddie to supper look like some of the Others. I played it back several times; no one looks familiar to me.

Geronimo Jackson: That's the name of the band on Eddie's shirt. This is also the band Michael and Hurley listened to on the record player in the swan hatch.

Eddies full name is Eddie Colburn and he is a cop for the Humbolt County Sherrif Department. He's been a cop there since June 12, 1994. (this all comes from the print out Mike and Jan had of him from the internet). Jan says "nice picture huh, you found him fresh out of the academy". This gives us a time frame. On the island it's 2004 so Locke's flashback all happened roughly 10 years ago.

While Locke walks through the cave to find Eko he comes across some things: First is a Tonka Dump Truck. He then comes across a skeleton wearing the Dharma Pearl symbol on its clothing. Guess someone didn't make it back to the Pala Ferry.

In my opinion Locke shoots Eddie we just don't see it happen. Here is why I believe this. Eko talks to Locke in some kind of trance. He tells Locke "You can still protect them John, you can still save them. You will find them, after all you are a hunter John." Now the only other person John told he was a hunter was Eddie when Eddie says "You won't shot me John you're a farmer." So it's almost like Eddie is talking through Eko. Reminding me of when Kates dad was talking through Sawyer wanting to know why Kate killed him. So if the person talking through Sawyer is dead... well you see where I'm going. By shooting Eddie he proved to him he was a hunter.

The big questions left unanswered of course is, how did Desmond know Locke was going to give a speech about saving Sawyer, Jack and Kate? What happened to Desmond when the hatch imploded?

This weeks episode is called "Everyman for Himself" and is a Sawyer flashback.

Season 3 Episode 2

LOST SEASON 3 EPISODE 2 The Glass Ballerina (Sun Flashback)
Sun really did have an affair

Ben (Benjamin Linus) has been on the Island all his life. He tries to nail this home by saying "Since you've been here your fellow Americans..." meaning he is not American.

Ben has the ability to contact the "real" world

Ben and Juliet clearly did have a previous relationship (as hinted to last week) as he said to her "you never made me soup".

The Others likely don't know anything about Desmond as they were shocked to hear about the sailboat. We also hear here that the Others use radios to communicate, as Colleen says "Ryan radio'ed in, they have a boat"

Colleen says "We'll take the *Galaga* and go investigate" Since we didn't see a boat pull up when the Others boarded the sail boat some people are speculating this is a submarine.

Kate is wearing Alex's dress

People are always going on about the big "screw up" in the show in regards to the Red Sox winning the World Series. The writers took care of that last night.

The thing that really stuck out for me was the warf Sun, Jin and Sayid are at says Pala Ferry. Back when Eko and Locke found the Pearl Station and watched the orientation video, the guy on the video says the following:
"At the end of your 8 hour shift, proceed to the Pala ferry which will take you back to the barracks "
